Based on the thermal principle, a closed probe contains two resistors, one heated as the detection resistor and the other unheated as the reference resistor. When the medium flows, the heat on the heating resistor is carried away. The resistance value has been changed. The difference between two resistances is used as a basis for determining the flow rate.
